THE BUILD

Flax Fibre EPS.Our Flax builds are 2 layers of 4oz on the bottom, 3 layers of 4oz on the deck with a carbon rod inset into the deck that’s laminated underneath a strip of carbon tape. They’re strong as!

PERFORMANCE

The epoxy flax boards don’t feel like typical eps. They have none of that chattery, corky, over bouyant feeling of typical eps boards while the carbon rod gives them just the right amount of flex and spring.

They feel more like a more alive and more responsive PU type board and they are definitely faster in the water than PU boards.

They’re pretty much all I ride these days, even when its double to triple overhead.I love the lively response that i get from the flaxes that makes my PU boards now feel a bit sleepy and sluggish.

DURABILITY

These boards are extremely durable The decks hold up really well and the boards are very difficult to ding, and seemingly almost impossible to break. These boards are going to be looking good and be around for a long time.

THE LOOK

Our flax builds look really sharp with their black rails and white pinstripe on the deck set against the natural flax fibre.

Last season here in Bali I pretty much surfed REVOLUTION twin pins exclusively. From waist high to triple overhead. A few of crew actually said to me that whatever I was riding, to stay on it, because I was surfing considerably better than previous seasons.

Personally, I just loved having so much speed on tap with boards that felt rock solid under my feet. Not only did they havea ton of drive to get through some of the gnarlier situations with ease, they turned out be ideal for the smaller softer days when i needed lots of glide to get through the sections.

I’m about 6’0″ tall and 95kg (210 lbs) and I’m currently riding, in these sizes….

6’0″ x 21″ x 2 7/8″ 36 litres for waves up to head high.
