After its debut last year, the Hyperlite Automatic quickly became a crowd favorite thanks to its pure surf style vibe and smooth ride. Hyperlite and shaper Scott “Butch” Bouchard set out to build a wakesurfer that replicates the speed, drive, and responsiveness of a high-performance surfboard. Their creation, the 2019 Hyperlite Automatic Wakesurf Board, is all that and more.

Its shape closely resembles many of the popular shapes we are seeing in surfing today. This wakesurfer is a purebred surf style board that is quick through the water, executes smooth turns, and can get some air underneath it when the rider decides to press the launch button. Did we forget to mention that this is undoubtedly one of the best looking wakesurf boards we’ve ever laid our eyes on?

Built using Hyperlite’s full carbon Dura Shell+ construction, the Automatic surfs better than the rest. A full bamboo base inlay gives this board a lively feel when snapping turns or popping airs. Ample volume up throughout the nose of the board helps prevent burying the nose while the rider really lays into a turn. Seamless edges make for smooth, consistent turns. Its mini swallowtail design gives the Automatic great push and top-end speed while still having impressive maneuverability. A fully machined EVA traction pad provides solid grip between the rider’s feet and the board. Equipped with Futures fin boxes, the Automatic includes two Flux fins and two minis so that the rider can customize their ride.
